Mission Statement

Our Mission

Octopus Kids' mission is to provide palliative care which is an interdisciplinary approach to specialized medical and nursing care for children with life-limiting illnesses. It focuses on providing relief from their symptoms such as pain, physical stress, and mental stress at any stage in their illness. Since each child feels and responds differently to our nurses and caregivers, we attempt to keep the same nurses caring for the same child so they can develop a loving relationship. Most of our children are on ventilators, wheelchair bound, confined to their beds, tube fed and require routine bathing schedules. Our main goal is to keep our children as comfortable and happy as possible and we make sure their needs are met accordingly.

This type of unique care focuses on relief for these patients as they have symptoms and stress from serious life-threatening illness or injury. Our desire is to improve the quality of life for each of these children to the highest level possible based on their own individual needs.

“Open your mouth for the mute, For the rights of all the unfortunate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, And defend the rights of the afflicted and needy”
